Extreme weather warning

Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th of July

We are all aware from the news that extremely high temperatures are forecast especially for Monday 18th of July and Tuesday 19th of July. The school will remain open at the usual times, unless you are advised otherwise.

We respect your decision as to whether you think it advisable for your child to come to school tomorrow or on Tuesday. Please notify the school office in the usual way if your child is absent from school to ensure the absence is authorised.

For those attending school, please note the following:

  • Children should wear loose, light-coloured clothing to help keep cool. It is not a requirement that children wear school uniform tomorrow and Tuesday. One suggestion is that they wear their PE kit.

  • Please ensure your child has a water bottle in school.

  • Children should wear sun hats with wide brims to provide protection from the sun.

  • Please apply sunscreen before school to protect skin (at least factor 15, factor 30 is even better, with UVA protection).

  • Depending on your journey, you are welcome to collect your child earlier in the afternoon and before the end of the school day if this is helpful. Please report to the school office when you arrive.

Parents and carers of Year 6 children should note that the children’s end of term production will not now take place on Tuesday and has been moved to Thursday evening.
